ABOUT KARI STATHAM
I’m a mother, grandmother, sister, wife, and proud Vernon citizen. My husband Mike and I have a blended family, and some of my favourite moments are spent together outdoors - hiking our trails, enjoying Vernon’s beautiful lakes, and simply making memories with family in nature.
My career has given me the opportunity to lead teams and businesses across Vernon and beyond. I’ve held leadership roles with The Bay, Target Canada, Mark’s Work Wearhouse, Shoppers Drug Mart, Dollarama, and now Healthy Spot. Along the way, I’ve been fortunate to receive leadership awards recognizing team culture, achieving financial goals, and driving innovation. These experiences have taught me the importance of listening, working together, finding practical solutions, and creating environments where people can succeed.
Giving back to the community has always been important to me. I’ve volunteered with the Vernon Winter Carnival, dragon boat races, local sports events, and many other community initiatives. I believe a strong community is built by people who care enough to show up, lend a hand, and work together.
Right now, Mike and I are excited to be taking part in Dancing with the Vernon Stars in support of the North Okanagan Hospice Society. It’s a fun way for us to step outside our comfort zones, connect with our community, and support an organization that means so much to Vernon.
Vernon is home. It’s where I grew up, where my family is, and where I’ve built my life. I care deeply about this community and the people who call it home, and I want to continue finding ways to listen, contribute, and help make Vernon an even better place for all of us.
